Great Voting Information (especially for college students)

Did you know the County Auditor’s office has to be open on the Saturday before the election for folks to vote absentee in person at the office – from 10 am to 3 pm?  This would be good for college students if they come back to Moorhead on weekends.

Also October 12 was the deadline to pre-register to vote.  You can still register to vote at your polling place by bringing evidence of your residence (DL, utility bill, etc) and/or a neighbor or witness who can vouch that you live where you say you do.  Pre-registration just makes things go more quickly on election day.

ABSENTEE BALLOTS:  There is no deadline by when you need to apply for or send in your absentee ballot.   You can either vote absentee at your local county auditor’s office (in person) or some city clerk’s offices, or you can apply for an absentee ballot to be mailed to you which you then fill out, have signed by a witness (don’t forget this important requirement) and then mail back.  Best to get this done soon if you are intending to vote by absentee ballot.  Application form is online at the Secretary of State’s web site.  (www.sos.state.mn.us)

Remember to VOTE YES  on the Moorhead Levy Referendum!
